By Daniel Pearson, Education AI Consultant and Director of Campus Mind. Published 12 October 2026.

Applications to the Campus Mind Founding Schools Programme are now open.
If your school is exploring how AI could make a meaningful difference for staff and students, this is an opportunity to try Campus Mind, discuss its use in your setting and contribute to its development.
Selected schools will receive two weeks of free demo access and an on-site consultation day, with no consultation fee, just travel expenses. In return, we are looking for honest feedback about what works, what needs improving and what schools need next.
AI that helps students think
One of the most important questions for schools is what happens to learning when students use AI.
A polished answer can look impressive. But the educational value lies in what the student understands, can explain and can do afterwards.
Campus Mind is designed to guide students through their thinking. It can ask questions, offer prompts when they get stuck and help them work towards an answer. The aim is to support the learning process, including planning, practice and reflection.
For a student who feels overwhelmed by revision, that might mean identifying what they already know, choosing a manageable starting point and developing a revision plan. For another, it might mean explaining their reasoning before receiving further guidance.
That is the approach we want to explore with founding schools: how can AI support students to become more thoughtful, capable learners?

A platform that understands the school
Teachers need support that fits their working day and the context in which they teach.
Campus Mind can draw on approved school information, including its ethos, policies and procedures, to provide more relevant guidance. Staff can explore tools for planning, resources and everyday tasks, while retaining responsibility for checking and using the output.
A demo is a chance to see the staff and student modes, explore the interface and discuss where school-specific knowledge could be useful in your setting.
It is also a chance to ask practical questions. Which documents should an AI draw on? Where would it save time? Where does a member of staff need to make the decision?
These are valuable starting points for a school considering its next step with AI.
Visibility into how AI is being used
Giving people access to AI is only one part of the picture. School leaders also need to understand how it is being used.
Campus Mind provides authorised staff with visibility into interactions within the platform. That can support conversations about effective practice, areas where students need help and how the school's approach could improve.
It is a source of insight to consider alongside classroom work and teacher judgement. A chat log alone cannot establish what a student understands.
During the consultation, we will explore the monitoring and oversight tools and discuss how they could support your school's approach.

What founding schools receive
The programme brings together three elements.
Two weeks of free demo access
Explore Campus Mind's student and staff modes and get familiar with the interface. Extensions are available by arrangement if your school needs more time.
The offer is demo access. We will discuss any subsequent implementation separately, based on what your school needs.
An on-site consultation day
We will explore how AI could be used in your school, including Campus Mind's monitoring and oversight tools.
There is no consultation fee. Travel expenses are the only charge, with arrangements agreed with your school.
A voice in research and development
Share the problems you want AI to help with, the features you find useful and the points where the experience could be better.
Campus Mind has been in development for two years and is already being used by hundreds of students. Feedback from more schools will help us understand how it works across different settings and inform what comes next.
Making the most of the demo
You do not need a complete AI strategy before taking part. Curiosity and a willingness to explore are a useful place to start.
Choose one or two practical questions to investigate. For example:
- How does a guided revision conversation differ from simply asking AI for an answer?
- Which staff tasks could benefit from an AI first draft that a teacher checks and adapts?
- What would school leaders want to learn from authorised reviews of platform use?
- Which school policies or procedures would be useful sources of guidance?
Keep a short record of what felt useful, what was unclear and what you would change. Specific feedback from everyday use will help make the programme worthwhile.
